WALK-IN
MEDICAL CARE
FOR YOUR PET
ABOUT US
Animal Urgent Care is a walk in clinic, you do not need an appointment to have your pet seen. We see any type of emergency or urgent care case but we also perform expedited exams and vaccinations for people that cannot wait for an appointment at a regular clinic.
Veterinary Urgent Care clinics are relatively new and becoming more common in metropolitan areas where they provide services somewhere in between that of regular clinics and emergency clinics. Urgent care clinics are not considered emergency clinics and usually do not handle most serious injuries or medical conditions.
OUR CLINIC, ANIMAL URGENT CARE IS DIFFERENT!
The nearest full scale veterinary emergency clinic is in Pasco, Washington, most of an hour away. We have the experience and expertise to treat serious medical and trauma cases and do so on a regular basis. We perform emergency soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and we hospitalize patients as needed. Referral to board certified specialists or critical care facilities is always an option but we fill a need for those that can’t or won’t accept a referral.
We frequently get questions, complaints even, about our hours. We agree, they are not nearly as long as we would like. We cannot currently staff a 24 hour emergency service. We don’t have emergency clinic hours, as the typical complaint goes, but then technically we are not an emergency clinic, just the closest thing to it you can find in this valley.
In veterinary medicine there is a growing need for urgent care services. It is common for clinics to be booked out for weeks and unable to see sick or hurt animals in a timely manner. We recognize this insufficiency and our efforts are geared towards providing care for those that need it now. You decide if your pet needs to be seen today and we'll do our best to accommodate. We will treat in order of arrival, however, be aware that we also follow a strict and streamlined triage protocol: the most critical patient present will receive the most immediate care. The following chart will give you an idea of treatment priority.
